Geocaching - Chalk Cliffs

Here we are starting off the hike. Since this one was a bit longer than normal we put Ronni in the backpack.

Collin checking out one of the horse jumps in Hitchcock Woods.

Here is a pic of the "bushwhack" trail we went on. In this pic is Paul w/ Ronni on his back and that little blue blob on the bottom is Collin. I was bringing up the rear so we didn't loose anyone on the way. ;)

The bottom of the cliffs. Collin was checking out the 'caves' as he called them. They were just little crevices in the rocks but they were quite an adventure for Collin. He kept saying he was going to find a lion in them. haha!

Ronni learned how to protect her head from all the bushwhacking. I asked her to pose so we could get a pic of her. I thought it was cute. Poor thing... ;) Paul had a hard time bushwhacking with her on his back though. They both worked hard.

Here's Collin sitting on the cliff. Paul called it child endangerment but Collin didn't move until I got back to him and carried him away from the edge. I just thought it would make a good picture.

So, that little spot of mud that I thought I was stepping on ended up being a lot deeper than I thought. Down I went. ooops!! The pants were khakis so all that isn't mud but you can see the color difference. My poor shoes!

Chuga Chuga Toot toot!!

The kids built a "train" in the living room. ;)

The Morning OFF!!!

Well, Paul said he wanted me to go off on my own and he'd watch the kids this morning! Woot!! I didn't know what to do. I went grocery shopping Thursday so I didn't need to do that again. We really don't have the money to do anything so I had to do something free. I wrote letters to some friends while sitting in downtown (I love to ppl watch there). I watched a man take his Irish Wolfhound into Ace Hardware. haha! Then I went to the library and picked out a book for playgroup (we rotate who gets the activity and next week is my turn -- the whole thing will rotate around Hickory Dickory Dock and they actually had a book called Hickory Dickory Dock!). Anyways... after my exciting trip to the library I went to Hobby Lobby and walked around a bit then came home. Dh asked me what I did so I told him. His response was, "What? That's pathetic! Next time, I expect you to do more than that." I asked him for suggestions but he couldn't come up with any either. I also didn't miss the "next time". haha!!
It was really nice and kind of relaxing. Now, time to get my nose to the grindstone again. Let's get this house clean and knock my 'to do' list down so it's a little bit shorter. On the bright side --- I don't have a sharing time to plan this week. ;) I love doing sharing time but it just makes my 'to do' list shorter when it's not there. ;)

Volcano eruption!!!

As I was getting out of the shower this morning, I heard a lot of yelling coming from the kids' bedroom. I walked over and peeked through the doorway to see what was happening. Collin and Ronni were both hanging onto the bed screaming. Collin was yelling, "Get on the giant ship!! .... oh no!!!" and other things like that. I had to stand in the doorway for a little bit but apparently a "volcano" (the tower of blocks) erupted and they were trying to get to safety on the "ship" (bed). haha! I had them pose in front of their "volcano". I am so glad that my children have an imagination. ;)

Linda's getting crafty... uh-oh!!!

I know what you're all thinking, "What? Linda?? No way!!" Well, it's true. I had an idea and I flew with it. Okay... so it may not be the prettiest thing ever made but I tried. =o) We made a Family Home Evening Assignment Chart. I figured the kids are old enough that they can have a turn choosing stuff or helping to present lessons or things like that. Collin painted the circles all my himself. He picked he colors and everything! I even left some space on the right side just in case we one day decide to have another. *wink wink* Anyways... this is just to show that I can be crafty -- sometimes. Just don't expect it to happen too often.

Where'd she sleep???

Ronni always wakes up in the middle of the night cold. The reason she does this is because she removes her warm pajamas and kicks off her blankets. Of course she's going to feel cold. The other night she asked if she could sleep under her bed (this is where the heating vent is located ;). I allowed her to. She curled up under the bed, I covered her up and gave her her bear and we kissed her goodnight after prayers. She slept there all night and didn't wake up whimpering or come crawling into our bed. She slept for twelve hours! haha!! Crazy girl!!!

Paul and Collin

The audio really stinks but I hope you enjoy it. Once you're about 45 seconds into it the sound gets a little better. It was picking up the fan on Paul's computer for some reason....
