Snow in SC!!!

We never get snow. When we do, it doesn't stick and if it does stick, it's just a light dusting. Well, we have several inches out there and the snow is still falling. It's beautiful and I LOVE it!! We probably won't get snow again for a few more years so we're going to enjoy it and be grateful for it while we have it. Just hope these trees loaded down with snow don't cause problems. ;) It is kind of odd seeing our luscious, green oaks covered with fluffy white snow.

So, w/o further ado... here are pictures as requested. ;-)

It was just starting here and I wasn't sure if it'd stick or not so we thought we'd take advantage of it while we could. It's hard to tell but it's snowing in this pick. Not too impressive but Collin had fun catching it on his tongue.

We came back out a little later. It was sticking -- light dusting and Ronni's first look at snow. She didn't really know what to think. She kept saying, "eeew! eeeew! eeew!!" haha! She thought it was something gross. After I explained to her that it was ice she started eating it. It was no longer gross. :)

Last week it was 60*F so flowers were blooming and the bushes and trees are green and now they're covered with powdery white snow.

The kids playing in the front yard and the rest of the neighborhood.

We came out a little later -- yes, it was dark. Here's Arwen enjoying her first snow.

Collin had a checklist of things he wanted to do if it snowed. First, snow angels...

Next, a snowball fight. Obviously, I didn't get a pic of this b/c I was busy bombarding my children with snowb... I mean... er... getting hit with snowballs. ;)

Here's the front gate and my yellow jasmine. haha! My poor plants are so confused right now.

Here is the snowman... yes, it's a basketball on his head. Dinner was ready, Ronni was freezing and I had already brought her in to warm her up. Paul stayed outside w/ Collin (he got to come home early) and they just stuck the basketball on its head. haha! I think it was Collin's idea b/c he had told me that we should do that earlier.

I don't know... this was while Paul and Collin were out there alone and it was on the camera. I thought it was cute though.

Organized the food storage!!!

Today, I finally took the crib and toddler bed apart that have been occupying half of our room and got them in the attic ;) My four year old helped.... it was tough. haha!! Then, I took all the food storage that was stacked in our dining room with a blanket over it (because there was absolutely NO WHERE else for it togo) and put it in our bedroom where the crib and toddler bed were. Our living room seems so BIG now. It's awesome!! ;)
In the above pic is the pantry that's in our living room and has no door. It has been cleaned and organized. All those small cans on the second from bottom shelf is our food that expires in 2010. I thought we should eat it soon. We used it for dinner and FHE refreshments last night. ;)

Here is the "hallway" going down our food storage now. There are two stacks of boxes, filled with #10 cans on both sides. I moved all this stuff all by myself too!! And considering that I am only 5'3", I think I did a pretty darn good job of lifting those boxes over my head. ;)

This is a better shot of the left side. Note - I labeled every box with the cans inside. The backpacks on top of the boxes are our 72 hr kits.

Here's the right side. That's ds's little head peaking around. That's a 3-fold divider that dh and ds made when dd had to sleep in our room before the adoption was finalized b/c she couldn't share a room with a little boy.
This doesn't include the food that IS our bed and the 3 - 5 gallon buckets I found after I got this all organized. haha!! Now, I have to figure out what I'm going to do with them. =o) I think that we'll be okay while we're waiting to make more money. ;) I didn't realize how much food we had until I did this. I'm so proud of myself --- this took forever to organize! Then I had to clean up the huge mess I made afterwards. But... hooray!! It's finally done!!!

Get Mail, Mom!

Ronni yelled, "Let's get mail, Mom!" It was still early and I hadn't gotten either of the kids dressed and the mail hadn't come yet so I told her "No, we'll get it later. Besides, you have no clothes on."
She said, "Okay, Mom." Completely unlike her normally hard headed, two year old self.
A few minutes later she came back like this. She's not wearing a shirt under the jacket, her pants and twisted and she's wearing her brother's shoes. ;)  She had dressed herself and said, "K, let's go mom." haha! Of course we went and checked the mailbox. That was just too cute! There wasn't any mail but she didn't seem to care. She was just excited that I let her open the mailbox door.
